Sishen Iron Ore Company -Community Development Trust (SIOC-CDT) Launch event
On 20 April 2023 an official event was held by SIOC-CDT to formalise the partnership between CDRF and SIOC-CDT. The launch event was attended by SIOC-CDT Officials, CDRF Executive Director and Operational Head as well as a representative of The South African Red Cross Society.

Berg River Wastewater Treatment Project
On 21 April 2023, the Berg River Wastewater Treatment Project launch event took place in Wellington. The event was attended by Coucillor Theunus Bester, who was representing the City Manager, officails from Drakenstein Local Municipality, CDRF, CSIR and SANTAM, who is the funder for the project.
Institute for Security Studies (ISS) Colloquium
May 11, 2023 Exec.Dir. Of CDRF, Mr John Lomberg moderated a “From Risk to Resilience” workshop. The event was co-hosted by ISS, CDRf and the Daily Impact Emergency Management (DIEM) Network. The Panelist included: Dr Eelco H Dykstra, Managing Director, DIEM, The Hague, Netherlands Dr Jakkie Cilliers, Head, African Futures & Innovation, ISS Pretoria Willemien van Niekerk, Principal Researcher, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, South Africa.
